Network Profiles

A network profile is a reusable 802.1X connection template — which network, which EAP method, and how the certificate binds — that DashX turns into a supplicant profile/installer for devices.

Create a profile

  1. Go to Network → RADIUS / NAC → Network ProfilesNew.
  2. Set:
    • Name and Network Type (Wi‑Fi / wired).
    • EAP Method (e.g. EAP‑TLS).
    • Certificate binding:
      • Device — machine‑wide (headless / always‑on / RDP / kiosk / server) — the machine authenticates by itself.
      • Machine or User — the device authenticates at boot, and the user when they log in.
    • Trusted server hostname(s) — what the client verifies the RADIUS server cert against.
    • Default VLAN (informational), plus CN / Email / Validity for the issued cert.
  3. Save — the profile is now available to hand out to devices.
tip

Pick Device binding for anything that must be online without a logged‑in user (servers, kiosks, RDP hosts); pick Machine or User for staff laptops so both the machine and the person are authenticated.
