Custom Assets

Track things that aren't DashX‑managed devices — monitors, docking stations, phones, furniture, spare hardware — so your asset register is complete.

Add a custom asset​

  1. Go to Asset Management → Custom Assets → Add Asset.
  2. Fill in what you know:
    • Name and Type.
    • Serial (e.g. ASSET‑001) and Vendor (e.g. HP, Cisco).
    • IP and MAC (optional).
    • Owner (e.g. John Doe) and Location (e.g. Office HQ).
    • Cost — for asset‑value reporting.
  3. Save. The asset joins All Assets with a lifecycle status.

Record owner and location — those two fields turn an asset list into something you can actually act on when you need to find or reclaim hardware.
