Alerts
Define what DashX alerts on and who gets told. Alert rules watch your metrics; recipients decide where notifications land.
Create an alert rule
- Go to Settings → Monitoring & Alerts → Alerts → New Rule.
- Set:
- Name (e.g.
High CPU Alert). - Metric and condition/threshold — e.g. CPU > 90% for a device.
- Severity — how urgent a match is.
- Cooldown — minimum time between repeat alerts (
0 = no cooldown) so you're not spammed. - Recipient(s) — who this rule notifies.
- Name (e.g.
- Save.
Recipients
Add notification targets once and reuse them across rules:
- Email (e.g.
noc@company.com) - SMS (a phone number — requires SMS & Voice)
tip
Set a cooldown on noisy rules so a flapping device doesn't send fifty texts, and route critical severities to SMS while everything else goes to email.

For alerts driven by log patterns see Log Alert Rules; for Windows Event patterns see Event Log Alert Rules. This page is for metric/health alerts.
