Event Log Alert Rules

Turn a log pattern into a proactive alert — get notified when a matching event shows up, instead of discovering it during the next incident.

Create a rule

  1. Go to Monitoring → Event Logs → Alert RulesNew Rule.
  2. Define what to match (leave a field blank to ignore it):
    • Name — what this rule is for.
    • Log name — e.g. System, Security.
    • Event ID — the specific ID to catch.
    • Level — Information / Warning / Error / Critical.
    • Source filter — match a particular event source.
    • Message filter — text the event message must contain.
    • Severity — how DashX should rank a match (defaults to Warning).
  3. Create the rule. New matching events raise an alert at the severity you set.

Manage rules from the same tab — delete any that are noisy or no longer needed.

tip

Build the rule straight from what you saw in Statistics or Logs — copy the exact Event ID/source so the rule matches precisely and doesn't cry wolf.
